Freedom

Freedom

I can't help but think ‘bout my Daddy ‘round the 4th of July 'cause he was so patriotic.  He loved God, his family, his country, and his flag.  He proudly displayed his flag on a flag pole in his front yard.  He loved to watch it wave in the breeze.  Daddy was a technical sergeant during WWII, and knew first hand the price that was paid for our flag to wave.

When the "Star Spangled Banner" is played, and I place my hand over my heart, I feel it skip a beat as I remember my Daddy and all veterans past and present. Their service and sacrifice to keep our flag blowin’ in the breeze.

Freedom is never free. Thank you God for all the veterans. May you bless them and their families!

Picture of Daddy from our scrapbook. That's his flag in the front yard he's saluting. He had the opportunity to be in our Veteran's Day parade the year they honored WWII Veterans. He was so proud! People lined the streets applauding the whole time they passed by.

Happy 4th of July!
