Happy Father's Day!

I always felt safe with Daddy 'round. He could solve any problem 'n fix anythin’. I remember runnin’ out of tha’ house. I hit tha’ storm door hard. Glass shattered all over tha’ porch 'n part of tha’ door got broken. Daddy hugged me 'n said, "Don't worry. I'm glad you're ok. I'll fix tha’ door." He took duct tape 'n put one piece from top ta' bottom on one side, then he took another piece 'n did th’a same thing on tha’ other side.

I miss my Daddy! As Father's Day approaches, I think 'bout all tha' things I learned from him. Things like responsibility, doin' my best 'n doin' what's right, laughin'/not takin' yourself too seriously, 'n ta' appreicate God's creation. Thank ya' Daddy!

Father's Day Poem

Our Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it...Dad.
