Cousin Horace Playin' Football

Cousin Horace Playin' Football
Cousin Horace played football in high school.  He could always be counted on ta’ catch tha’ ball, run tha’ ball, ‘n make touchdowns.  He led tha’ Frog Holler Jumpers ta’ a championship in 1971.
Cousin Horace didn’t start out as a good football player.  He used ta’ catch tha’ ball like it was covered in hog grease.  It'd slip right through his hands every time!  If he ever did catch tha’ ball ‘n try ta’ run, he’d trip over his own feet ‘n fall sprawlin’!  But he never gave up! He practiced, practiced, ‘n practiced!

Livin’ in taday’s changin’ world, it’s hard ta’ hang on ta’ your faith.  Sometimes your faith can be like it’s been coated in hog grease, ‘n slip right through your fingers.  But if ya’ keep a close relationship with God, your faith will grow strong!

1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

Things Ta' Think 'bout:
1. Is your faith slippin' through your fingers?
2. How's your relationship with God?

Lord, I pray for your wisdom 'n guidance ta' practice our faith every day. Give us strength to stand 'n grow in our faith. In tha' name of Jesus, amen.

"Sometimes God uses our weakness to make us strong."
