How Do Ya' Ride Tha' Waves of Life?

Every time I'm at tha' beach, I remember, when I was little, Daddy would take me 'n my sister out in tha' ocean ta' ride tha' waves. He held me in one arm 'n my sister in tha' other. As long as Daddy was holdin' me, I felt safe.

We'd ride one wave in 'n then another 'n another. After a while, Daddy decided ta' go out a little further. It was goin' well, 'til I felt somethin' wrappin' 'round my legs. All I could think of was - a snake. I started hollerin' 'n tryin' ta' get whatever it was off! It's a wonder Daddy didn't drop me, but he held on ta' me 'til tha' next wave brought us in. He would not let go of me 'cause he knew what would happin' if he did. Of course it was seaweed wound 'round my legs. But ya' cain't convince me it wasn't a snake!

Have there been times in your life when ya know you've been held by tha' arms of our Heavenly Father? Mamma says that we're safe in tha' arms of tha' Lord. He rides tha' waves of life with us 'n holds us up ta' keep us from drownin'.

As Bible believin' Christians, we sometimes forget 'r take for granted that God already knows what kind 'a waves of life we're ridein'. Just like Daddy holdin' on ta' me ta' keep me safe, so does our Heavenly Father hold us up ta' keep us safe.

When ya' rest in tha' everlastin' arms of Jesus, you'll make it ta' tha' shore safely!

Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms...

Some things ta think 'bout:

1. How has God held ya' up when tha' waves of life seemd ta' knock ya' down?

(Please share if ya' will)

2. Are ya' trustin' God enough? Do ya' thank Him enough?

God thank ya' for keepin' us in your evrlastn arms. Thank ya' for bein' our refuge.
Lord whatever tha' waves of life are, may we ride 'em all with you.
In tha' name of Jesus, amen.

  1. Today, 15 minutes after this weak and weary woman, laid my burdens down at His feet, my Abba Father moved an obstacle, or moved it to next week. Sometimes, He doesn't move or remove the burdens and obstacles, but instead strengthens me to deal with them.

It's interesting that you mentioned being thankful...my daily devotional reminded me of the same thing. I must remember to Adore Him, Confess my sins to Him, Thank Him for all things, and then, ask Him to Supply my needs (A.C.T.S. prayer) because it get my mind off of my circumstances and back on to Him, my Abba Father.

Thanks for helping the Lord speak to me.
