How Are Your Roots Grounded?

Have ya ever noticed tha roots of an oak tree? They are awesome! Big, thick roots grow out from tha tree 'n more roots shoot out from them. I read that oak trees have a deep taproot that drinks in water 'n food for its other roots. Some of tha roots run 'bout 4' deep. As long as the root system doesn't get damaged, an old oak's roots keep tha tree standin' tall 'n firm. If somethin' happens ta 'em, tha tree may fall over.
Isn't it somethin' how God supplies tha needs for tha oak trees? Their roots are deeply grounded ta keep 'em strong, stable, 'n standin' firm. Christians, our taproot system is faith. Jesus suffered, bled, 'n died on tha cross for us! He never changes. He loves us no matter what. He's with us always. He helps us ta fight our battles.

Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

What happens when troubles 'n temptations tries ta hurt our taproot system? If our focus is on Jesus, He can provide a way for us ta renew our faith. He nourishes us with food from His word ta give tha strength we need. Without faith we no longer stand firm 'n fall.

How can ya make sure your roots (faith) are grounded?
1. Know that Jesus is your savior. Believe that He's your savior.
2. Read His word every day; sometimes more than once a day.
3. Pray 'bout everythin'.
4. Praise Him.
5. Talk 'n fellowship with other believers.
6. Tell others your story.
7. Be joyful even in your struggles.

Lord, help us ta ground our roots in you, 'n renew 'em every day. In tha name of Jesus, amen.
