Daddy's Valentine to Mamma

Daddy's Valentine to Mamma

Every year of their marriage, Daddy would give Mamma a big heart shaped box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day, bein’ that's her favorite candy.

He'd say, "Love is like chocolate candy, sometimes sweet ‘n sometimes bitter but mostly nutty.”  Daddy always did have a way with words.

Mamma shared her box of chocolates with me ‘n my sister.  She told us how much she ‘n Daddy loved us, ‘n wanted the best for us. She said, “That’s what Valentine’s Day is all ‘bout, givin’ gifts of love.  But nothin’ me ‘n your Daddy can ever give will be as good as the gift God can give.  All you have to do is ask Him.”

Matthew 7: 9-11 “Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

Thank you, Lord, for your great love for us. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Things To Think 'Bout:
