Tha' Glory of Easter

At our church's Easter Pageant last year, Cousin Cletus was in charge of rollin' tha' stone away from tha' tomb. All tha' people helpin' change tha' sets wore black so they wouldn't be seen when tha' lights went down. Well, Cousin Cletus started ta' roll tha' stone away from tha' tomb 'n it got loose. It rolled over tha' feet of tha' people sittin' on tha' front row. Ya' could hear people hollerin'. When tha' lights came up again, there was Cousin Cletus sittin' in front of tha' tomb in his flannel underware. It was tha' only thing black he had ta' wear.

Mamma's two favorite times of year is Christmas 'n Easter. At Christmas we celebrate tha' birth of Jesus, 'n at Easter we celebrate His ressurection. Jesus was born for tha' cross. His purpose was ta' suffer, bleed, 'n die for us. By His grace 'n mercy, we are saved 'cause Jesus took all tha' sins of tha' world on Himself.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost. John 19:30

At tha' cross on Calvary is where we'll find God's greatest mercy 'n sacrifice. I can't imagine how God must of felt. I can't imagine what Jesus went through for us. All I know is it's God's amazin', awesome grace 'n love for us sinnr's. Christians we need ta' take a look at our hearts 'n make sure we're right with God, 'n ask Him what we need ta' do for Him? He's done it all for us.

If ya' don't know Christ, my prayer is that ya' will believe that He suffered, bled, 'n died for ya' on tha' cross. And He resurrected on tha' third day so ya' can have eternal life with Him. Then repent and ask God ta' forgive ya' of your sins. It's the most important decision ya'll ever make in your life. Your victory is won in Jesus!

Lord, thank ya' for givin' your all for us. Forgive us when we forget all you've done. Give us your strength 'n wisdom ta' be better followers 'n disciples. In tha' name of Jesus, amen.

Things 'ta think 'bout:

1. Are ya' livin' your life for Christ?
2. Is your heart right with Him?

Jesus, you bore the nails in your hands and feet; the spear in your side; the crown of thorns you wore for me. Jesus, victory came that day on the cross when you gave us mercy and grace we don't deserve. Jesus, you bore the cross for me. -Janet Harllee

  1. Every year we watch Passion of the Christ, but it's difficult to witness. I can't imagine what it must have been like to watch it really happen.
