Now for those of ya' who don't know what an outhouse is, it's a wooden shed type buildin' with a door. Inside was a seat ya' could sit on ta' go to tha' bathroom. You might say, it's an outside bathroom. It was down at tha' end of tha' backyard - for a good reason.
Every time Ditsy Lou would go ta' tha' outhouse, Roscoe would chase her. When he'd catch up ta' her, 'n peck her bare feet 'n ankles. Ditsy Lou would cry 'n Uncle Forrest would come ta' her rescue. He'd pick her up inta' tha' safety of his arms.
How many times do ya' need a safe place ta' go when your life gets out of control? When tha' devil seems ta' be at your heels? There's one of two things ya' can do. One is ta' just keep lettin' tha' devil peck away at your life. Give in - give up. Tha' other thing is ta' run ta' God. His lovin' arms are where you're safe. Protected. Trust Him ta' handle whatever's goin' wrong!
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my
fortress (protector); my God, in Him I will trust.” Psalm 91:2
Things ta' Think 'bout:
1. Do ya' know God? Do ya' know that He is able to handle things in your life?
2. Where is your refuge?
Lord, thank ya' for bein' our refuge in times of trouble. Give us your wisdom 'n hedge of protection. In tha' name of Jesus, amen.
