How Ta' Turn Your Darkness Inta' Light

How Ta' Turn Your Darkness Inta' Light
Have ya' ever been afraid of tha' dark? I remember, when I was little, after I said my prayers, Mamma would tuck me in 'n give me a kiss. Before she left my room, she turned out tha' light 'n closed tha' door. It was dark!

I'd pull tha' covers up under my chin, 'n shut my eyes real tight! I didn't want my leg ta' hang out 'cause of tha' monsters under my bed! So, I curled up like a ball in tha' middle of my bed. One nite I had a bad dream. Those monsters were after me! I started yellin'! Mamma came in 'n sat on my bed. I told her about bein' afraid of tha' dark. She hugged me 'n said, "It's alright Mitsy Lou. Don't be afraid! God's love lights up tha' darkness."

Ta' this day, I'm no longer afraid of tha' dark. If ya' have a true relationship with God, your darkness turns inta' light. That light shines through ya' for others ta' see!

Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Things ‘ta think ‘bout:

1.      Is God truly in your heart?

2.      Is His light shinin’ through ya’?

Lord, no matter what we’re goin’ through, help us ta’ keep shinin’ your light so others will know ya’. In tha’ name of Jesus, amen.

Please pray for all tha’ missionaries ‘n their families who are fightin’ ta’ keep God’s word goin’ out ta’ tha’ world.

Are ya' in need of a prayer? I’d love ta’ pray for ya’! Just leave me a comment.

God bless ya’ll’s hearts!

  1. It's funny. When I was a little girl, I was also afraid of the dark. Now that I'm an adult, I actually prefer the dark for several reasons. 1) I live in the desert and dark means it's not 117 degrees. 2) It's a time when at least most of my work is done and I can relax a bit. 3) There's less noise in the house. 4) It's the time I can rest.

  2. Hello Janet; as a young boy I too would pull the cover over my face. I would even have a flashlight with me under the covers so nothing would get me. as I became a teen I realized that the monsters I feared weren't real and that God would watch over me at night any way.
